Dave Aubrey
Cinematographer David Aubrey has been shooting for over thirty years on hundreds of projects with an international scope, from documentaries to feature films, television programs & commercials, profiles, promotionals and music videos. His work has taken him to England, France, China, South Africa, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and all across the United States. He is also a longtime editor and received an American Cinema Editors Nomination in 1993 for Best Edited Documentary for "Baraka".
Having worked as a film editor in Los Angeles and New York, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1981 and continued to pursue the art and craft of both cinematography and editing. He formed his own production company, Lightningwood Pictures, in 1984, working on a wide variety of programs for all distribution outlets. David has been shooting all film and digital formats and his company operates Avid and Final Cut Pro editing suites. He also works as a consultant for all levels of production and post-production needs. He was director of photography and editor for the 1994 released music film, "Toward the Within", featuring "Dead Can Dance" and the feature film, Soundman, 1998.
Over the last ten years David has been involved in using filmmaking as an educational tool to motivate and empower students from middle school through college levels. He has taught college level courses and led numerous workshops, internships, mentorships and guest lectures. He has also been pursuing the use of projected images for theater and visual arts.
